My style of family photography is both casual and natural, as I feel the best images are taken when your family is less aware of the camera. In this way I capture more natural moments between you instead of directing you to look, speak, or pose yourselves in specific ways :-)

Because kids are kids, I may ask for parents to step back a bit and let the kids be kids. Children have a tendency to react differently when parents are telling them to "smile and look at the camera".  If your kids are young I will encourage them to interact with me, help me find a flower, ladybug or leaf.  This gives them a task and ensures the best, most natural images possible.

I also encourage play, so I will step back and let your family play a small game of tag around the parents.

Bring props with you!  Think outside the box and have a look at toys your kids love and what activities you do as a family. For kids, anything from bikes, skateboards, surf boards, toy cars or trucks, dolls, giant teddy bears, and water guns are all great examples. For the older kids and teenagers, bring along a piece of sporting equipment such as a saddle, soccer ball, also fashion clothing and accessories, or an instrument they are learning to play.  I strongly suggest bringing props as they really do add that extra personalized touch to your experience!

If you aren’t sure what to wear! Don’t worry I have a handy little style guide I send along my in my welcome emails :)

Reviews:

We are so thrilled with the family photos Robin took! The photo session was fun and relaxed, and Robin was so accommodating of our wishes to have photos taken at a location that is meaningful to us. Robin completely captured our kids' personalities in her photos, and she was endlessly patient in including our dog, as well! Planning and coordinating our photo session was seamless, and we received our fully edited image gallery even sooner than promised. This was our first photo session with Robin, and we will certainly be recommending her to anyone looking to get family photos taken at the lake! -S&R Rogal
